Overview
This workshop is one of a series. Each workshop provides 2 to 3 hours of in-depth and focused training.
Background
Most of us have never had any listening training. We have spent all our lives developing our own listening “bad” habits. Habits which cannot be changed overnight. The point of this workshop is to make you think about your own behaviours and set your own agenda for any improvements you wish to make.
Workshop objectives
- To help you think about the way you listen and provide ideas for ongoing development of listening skills
- To put the ears rather than the heart at the centre of your relationships. (If you are driven only by your emotions, you tend not to listen well)

- A quiz to demonstrate how poor listening skills can be
- Hearing v Listening - what’s the difference?
- Telling a story exercise in listening
- Reflecting back/asking questions exercise
- Listening and meetings, how to use a “talking stick” to keep control
